Here you get tools for the modern guitar pedagogue with four different approaches from four famous and inspiring guitar pedagogues with experience of teaching in groups. Participating:
Stefan Löfvenius, one of Sweden's most prominent profiles in guitar pedagogy. His teaching methodology has influenced generations of guitar teachers and students for over 45 years.
Lars Martin, assistant professor at SMI. Teaches guitar and guitar methodology and is profile manager for guitar.
Thomas Hansy is active as a guitarist in Gothenburg Combo and has been a guitar teacher at the Gothenburg cultural school since 2003.
Matias Zloto is a music teacher and guitarist from Buenos Aires and works to inspire children without prior knowledge.
2 pm David Henriksson country guitar - The Jazz Bar, Katalin
Guitarist David Henriksson came home to Sweden just before the start of the pandemic after having lived in Nashville, which is also known as "Music City" for 2.5 years. During those years, he toured 36 of the US states, played with 12 artists who topped Billboard's country singles chart, and made numerous appearances at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House and Ryman Auditorium. He has also written articles for British Guitar Magazine and made a video course with American teaching company TrueFire. At this year's Guitar Festival, David will hold a workshop where he goes through some of the most important playing techniques in country guitar. Expect a good dose of hybrid picking, open strings, double stops and pedal steel-inspired bends!
3 pm Folk music guitar with Daniel Ek - Hall K4, UKK
Daniel shows the basics of comping polish on guitar. He will go through different accompaniment patterns, harmonization and basslines. String virtuoso Daniel Ek is a classical guitarist from the beginning. Nowadays all kinds of instruments are treated such as guitar, bouzouki, zither, banjo, bagpipes and more. Daniel was a member of the folk music group Ranarim where he played the guitar and the zither. Now he is mostly seen in the newly started project Ahlberg, Ek and Roswall. He also works as a guitar teacher in Sundsvall.
4 pm Matteo Mancuso Jazz Rock - Big Hall, Katalin
The young jazz-rock fusion virtuoso Matteo Mancuso from Sicily makes his Sweden premiere both with a concert and an exclusive workshop. Mancuso is a guitar prodigy who has been praised internationally by, among others, Al Di Meola, Dweezil Zappa, Stef Burns, Joe Bonamassa and Steve Vai. Matteo is a multifaceted guitarist and has developed a personal, original musical language. Already in 2009, at the age of twelve, he performed at the Castelbuono Jazz Festival in Sicily.
