Marcel Powell is Baden Powell's son, born in Paris. Baden Powell is one of the absolute foremost Brazilian guitar and songwriting giants who achieved great success in the 1960s, not least in the company of the poet Vinicius de Moraes. The music spread all over the world. Marcel Powell is in his own right a brilliant rhythm guitarist and musician. He has developed his father's musical treasure and recorded a series of fine albums, carrying on the modern musical tradition in a refined way. On the latest live album released this year, he plays with pianist Gilson Peranzzetta. The album is called Pro Tião and is dedicated to the great Brazilian guitarist and songwriter Sebastião Tapajós, who passed away in 2021.
