Lutenist Jonas Nordberg interprets Dowland. "When Jonas Nordberg tackles John Dowland's pieces for lute on his new album, the melancholic tone shimmers like in the most beautiful feather," writes Martin Nyström in DN. Now Jonas is finally coming to the Uppsala guitar festival and will give a full Dowland concert!

One of today's most sought-after lutenists, Jonas Nordberg, belongs to the new generation of musicians. After graduating from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, he has been a very active practitioner of the lute and similar instruments of ancient times. His repertoire varies from early Renaissance music to contemporary experimental music.

He has appeared at numerous festivals such as Kammer Musikfest Lockenhaus, Greenwich Early Music Festival, Stockholm Early Music Festival, BAM New York, National Sawdust NYC and Concertgebouw Brügge. Nordberg has collaborated with singers such as Ruby Hughes, Susanne Norin, Susanne Rydén, Olle Persson, Malmberg and Elin Rombo. As a continuo player, he has played with i.a. Concerto Köln, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Concerto Copenhagen, Drottningholm Baroque Ensemble. In March 2017, a new release came out on BIS Records under the title Heroines together with Ruby Hughes, soprano, and Mime YamahiroBrinkmann, baroque cello.
