We have the great pleasure of introducing
João Bosco. He is one of Música Popular Brasileira's big names and celebrates 50 years as an artist this year. João Bosco was born in Minas Gerais but has worked all his life in Rio de Janeiro. His collaborations with Aldir Blanc and Elis Regina created MPB classics such as De frente pro crime and O bêbado e equilibrista. Bosco is one of the artists of the 1960s MPB generation still touring. With his inimitable rhythmic playing style and song treasure, he has become a recurring favorite with the Swedish audience. Throughout his career as an artist, he has continued to write new songs.
João Bosco received a Latin Grammy Award for the song Abricó-De-Macaco as recently as 2020. In 2017, Bosco received a Lifetime Achievement Award from The Latin Recording Academy.
