The Italian
Cristina Galietto who is only 21 years old stands out as one of the most promising female guitarists of her generation. She has already visited many countries in Europe where she has given concerts and participated in masterclasses together with several prominent guitarists. Among the many international competitions she has won over the years is the Uppsala Guitar Festival where she won the 2020 edition of the Young Talent Competition with the following justification: "Her interpretation of Rodrigo's Tres Piezas captivated a unanimous jury. Musicality, technique and stage presence in a finely balanced balance.”
She has already released her first album "Avant l'Aube", which was released at the end of 2020, with music by, among others, Joaquín Rodrigo, Domenico Scarletti and Alexis Rago. They all represent an intimate, delicate and passionate sense of music - something that also clearly characterizes Cristina's guitar playing.
She first studied at the Conservatory of Music San Pietro a Majella in Naples and at the Conservatory of Music Domenico Cimarosa in Avellino. Later she continued at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
At the festival, Cristina Galietto will play works by Niccolò Paganini, Francisco Tarrega and Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. She will also tour the county.
