Kaki King - The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body
An Innovative Multimedia Performance
Kaki King has been widely acclaimed by the legendary magazine Rolling Stone - "She's a Genuine Genre!" During her fifteen year career, she has released eight well-known albums and for the music of Sean Penn's movie Into the Wild, she was nominated for a Golden Globe at the prestigious galan for American biofilms and television shows.
Kaki King has been touring all continents and performing on prestigious scenes such as Carnegie Hall and Metropolitan in New York, but also on art scenes such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. What she does is also something very special, where she often puts several sound layers together and combines virtuos fingerstyle with slapping technology. But, she says, "in the process of creating music, I realize that it's the guitar itself that speaks, I'm just an interpreter."
Her imagination seems endless and The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body is a truly unique multimedia performance she made together with Glowing Pictures, well-known for their collaborations with artists like Animal Collective, David Byrne, Brian Eno and Beastie Boys.
It is a visionary show that touches, rages and provokes. She will also use her acoustic 6-string Ovation Adamas 1581-KK Kaki King Guitar, specifically designed for this particular project. Just keep up with the Boston Globe magazine: "Do not miss this. I have never seen anything like ... a sumptuous feast for all the senses, a staggering dream of images and music from a guitarist who is already known for his innovative ability. I repeat, do not miss this. "
In addition to the concert, she is in a workshop.
